Master in Management Analytics
A one-year program for School of Management SKOLKOVO
Master in Management Analytics is a one-year program where experienced managers learn how to apply data analysis and artificial intelligence to solve business problems.

The problem
There is a great interest in applying data-driven approaches to business, but usually such projects fail. The main problem is not in technical nuances. It happens because business managers lack skills and expertise in working with data and artificial intelligence while trying to implement data-driven approaches. We needed to design a program at the SKOLKOVO School of Management to solve this problem and to teach business leaders to use data analysis for increasing business revenue and improving operational performance.
Our solution
A one-year modular program teaching participants to be qualified customers for advanced data analysis
Gamified admissions
For most correct candidate assessment we developed a game testing teamwork skills and ways of thinking in a natural context
Project stream
Unprepared participants needed to solve problems of their businesses using data. To make it possible, we created a new model of project work with an emphasis on consulting
Hybrid format
25% of group online sessions for providing complex technical information at a steady pace
75% of offline sessions to analyze the management aspects of working with data through games, simulations and analysis of business processes

Gamified admissions
When designing admissions, we needed to assess rather complex participants’ skills: focus on results, ethical values, rational thinking and the ability to work in a team.
We created Adventures of Captain Black — an animated video adventure. Our participants made difficult choices, solved puzzles and negotiated with each other. Assessors evaluated the applicants throughout the game.
The main value of the entry game: during the game a participant behaves more naturally and more often faces unexpected situations requiring immediate response. Thus it improves the selection accuracy.

Project stream
The project work was designed to lead the participants from educational projects to real ones as naturally as possible. So we based it on the consulting approach to the implementation of data-driven business management and synchronized it with the educational parts of the program.
